The Chinese Calendar is based on a twelve year cycle, with each year of the cycle being named after an
animal. The year does not start on a fixed date like the western year, but starts on a date determined by
the moon. So 2001 is the Year of the Snake. It started on the 24th of January 2001, and the last day
will be the 10th of February 2002. To enter the competition, all you need to do is tell us the
name of the year in which the Tam family took over the Capitol. In the event that there is more than one correct
entry, the winner will be decided by answering the tie-break question. (HINT: all the information you need to answer
can be found on the website!)
